Using a Moving Truck Rental Company Takes the Pain Out of Moving

When my new job required me to move two hundred miles away from my current location, all I could think was how much I was dreading the moving process. I have never met anyone who enjoys moving and having done it several times in my life, I was not anxious to repeat the process. However, the job was an incredible opportunity so I bucked up and began preparing myself for the big move. I first had to decide whether I wanted to move on my own or hire a professional. This was not a difficult decision after I did a little research.

I started by searching online for a moving truck rental company in my area. I found that there were several and wondered what criteria I might use to compare moving truck rentals. I sat down and figured out what was important to me in a company. Then I searched through the available moving truck rental companies until I found the one that suited my needs. I was able to do most of this work online and because of that, found it to be a quick and easy process. After determining the costs for a moving truck rental, I decided to quickly checkout what a professional mover would cost. One look at their prices and I booked my moving truck!

When it came time to move, I managed to coax a number of my friends and family into coming to help me with the process. With promises of coffee at breakfast and pizza when we finished, they agreed to help me out. My father and I went to pick up the moving truck and I was surprised at how quickly and easily we were able to get the truck and get back to my apartment. Because I had rented my own moving truck, I was able to pick a size that accommodated both my belongings and the location of my apartment. I cant say for sure whether a big moving company’s truck would have even fit in my driveway. But with the moving truck I rented, it was no problem.

When we packed everything into the moving truck, I really liked that none of my belongings were ever out of my sight. Plus, because I had rented my own truck, I got to wrap everything to ensure it did not get broken. The company had even given me suggestions on where to put delicate items in the truck to avoid breakage. After we packed my belongings up into the truck, I got ready to hit the road to my new apartment. Renting my own moving truck made me feel more confident that all my items would make it to my new home in one piece. Also, I knew precisely when they would get there because I was bringing them! I didn’t have to wait around for professional movers to arrive at their convenience. I was able to move on my schedule and it felt great.

I have to say that while I still don’t enjoy moving, this last time was definitely one of my better moving experiences. With a rented moving truck, I was able to move all my things at once, something I could have never done using just my car, had control over my belongings at all times and was able to do so on my schedule. I hope that was my last move but if it wasn’t, at least now I know a less painful way to get the job done.
